Hi I’m Sweetpea. I found myself at a city shelter after my person could no longer care for me because I had some medical issues. I was there for two months and they did all sorts of tests, lots and lots of test, but couldn’t find any reason for the occasional seizures I was having. The seizures stopped for a while but then I had a couple more so they asked for help. I am really happy to say King Street Cats decided to take a chance on me. I did have a seizure after I came to KSC but the doctors prescribed some medication for me and I haven’t had any troubles since.

I have been at King Street Cats for six months, so that means I haven’t had a family of my own for eight whole months! I appreciate everything KSC has done for me but I would so prefer to be in a home of my own.

To be perfectly honest I do not like other cats, I find them just a tad annoying. I am looking for a quiet home with one or two people who will give me all the attention I ask for. I have even discovered the joy of lap-sitting. I do get impatient sometimes if things aren’t exactly as I want them, but who doesn’t?

The volunteers here say I have become a champ at taking my meds. It is just a ¼ of a pill twice a day. Speaking of my medication, you might be wondering how much it costs. Well it isn’t much really if two people each eliminated two fancy coffees a month it would cover the cost, and I like to think I am worth it!

All the people who support King Street Cats in so many ways have made it possible for me to come this far, I feel badly asking for even more help but they told me it was worth a try and I would never know if I didn’t ask.

So what do you think? Can you help me find my forever home? I have seen so many other kitties come and go during my time here and it makes me sad that no one has taken a chance on me. I promise I will be more patient and show my new family all the love and gratitude they could ever want.

Hopefully yours,
Sweetpea

P.S. They asked me to remind everyone that King Street Cats adopts only in the metro DMV area. You can find more info at www.kingstreetcats.org
