DASHING YOUNG BOY SEEKS SPECIAL PURRSON WITH WHOM TO PRACTICE HIS LAP WARMING SKILLS

Hello friends! My name is Martell. I was recently rescued from a sad hoarding situation near Baltimore. How sad? The people didn't even know how many cats they were hoarding. Turns out there were 37 of us. Luckily, they agreed to surrender all of us to Animal Rescue.

Even luckier, King Street Cats responded to the call to welcome me into their family and give me a place to recover and learn to live the life that I deserve.

When I was first rescued by Animal Control in Maryland and brought to the shelter, I was so happy and relieved that I plopped myself right down into the laps of all the nice volunteers who were so eager to take care of me. Thus, we know I have this instinct! I found this business called lap warming" to be very rewarding.

However, as time passed and I began to take note of the other animals in the shelter, I found myself thinking less about lap warming and more about the fact that all these other animals... made me feel as if... I might be right back in the hoarding situation! I began to withdraw and didn't want to warm as many laps.

But now I'm here at KSC. They assure me that a handsome young guy like me -- I'm just one (1) year old -- will certainly find a forever home soon. Nothing sounds sweeter! I'd love a quiet home without small children (who are prone to unpredictable noise-making and sudden movements). I do, however, need a feline playmate....I LOVE to play!  I am a bit shy when first meeting new people so I'd love a quiet, patient purrson who will allow me to master a smaller, safe space before expecting me to explore the entire house. I'd love to sit where I can watch you and come to trust you and try my hand (I mean, my paw) at warming your lap again.

If you could open your heart and home to me, please contact my friends here at contact@kingstreetcats.org and ask for me, Martell. I can't wait to live the life of a safe, indoor and cherished member of my own (human!) family.

Gratefully yours,
Martell
