WE CALL HIM OUR TINY TEDDY BEAR - THIS SWEET KITTEN HAS COME A LONG WAY WITH HIS SPIRIT INTACT
Hello friends! My name is Windows. I am a little dark silver boy, just eight months old - still a kitten. When I was tinier than you can imagine, I was separated from my mom in the city of Baltimore. I found myself in a feral colony trying to steal what food I could, tiny and defenseles as I was.
It was a hard life. I developed a (treatable and now cured) infection that had me weighing in at four (4) pounds when a kind samaritan noticed me struggling and scooped me up. I was six months old. I was brought to BARCS - Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter.
I was a so small, so sick and so afraid. Yet I had the instinct to trust my new human friends. They got me the veterinary care I needed. The next step was to find me a place to recover my strength - a shelter is no place for a small and weak kitten to be.
The call when out to King Street Cats. Transportation was arranged and suddenly I went from underweight, sickly and frightened street kitten to hopeful young boy who would never be alone again. I've been growing stronger, healthier and happier each day at KSC and I am now ready to find my very own forever home. I can't tell you what a miracle this is given my bleak start in life!
Now I am a staff favorite! I can still be a little shy but I've made many feline friends and I run and play happily all around the King Street Cats facility. I love to be petted by my volunteer friends - and they love petting me because I am a soft, warm ball of dark silvery silk.
My friends here call me cutie pie, sweetie pie, and fluffly little teddy bear! I have medium length fur which is a very dark charcoal grey, almost black from some angles. Medium-length fur is the most appealing in my opinion. I am growing into a gorgeous little guy! I have a happy personality and love kitty friends.
I would love to go home with a kitty friend - this would build my confidence and allow me to continue mastering the feline skills that a momma cat would normally impart to her kittens.
Amazingly, I found just the friend here at KSC! His name is Shelby. He's a majestic tabby boy, a but older than me at two (2) years old, and shy -- which is where I help him and he helps me! Together we've become a happier, more confident duo and we'd love to stay together.
Same-species companionship greatly enhances the quality of life for an agreeable cat - and it's especially important for a young kittens like us. We will serve as each other's playmates, groomers, behavioral coaches, exercise buddies, sleeping and snuggling pals and four-footed security blankets. You will have so much less to worry about when you cannot be with me because you know I'll have my friend by my side.
Please visit Shelby's biography page on this site. We'll bring you laughter, entertainment and companionship. I would LOVE to go home with Shelby.
I had a scary start to life but I beat the odds! Thanks to BARCS and KSC I am now a darling little boy, a fluffy little teddy bear, a cutie pie and a sweetheart... one who's very busy playing and soaking up affection from my human friends - and my new best friend Shelby.
It's easy to get started: send an email to contact@kingstreetcats.org and ask for me, Windows, and my best friend Shelby. I've included his photo here so you can see what an adorable little tiger-striped tabby kitten he is. Thank you.
Adorably yours,
Windows (with my best friend Shelby)
