Hello friends, my name is Duchess! I was born around 2011 (so I am about 3 years old as of this posting) and I arrived here from another shelter. I was surrendered there by my owners and was pregnant at the time. I got an upper respiratory infection and lost all of my babies. But now I’m healthy and spunky and ready for my forever home!

I’ve been in foster care for a while now, and I would love to have my own person or people to spoil.  My foster MOM is lots of fun and plays with me, but there are several older cats here that need special care and so I don’t get all of her attention and I’m jealous!

I love to run around the house and play fetch with my little red rattle mouse.  I’ll fetch for as long as you want to throw it – I absolutely LOVE the game.  It’s so much better than a laser that I can’t catch.  I’m also practicing my gymnastics moves and jumps with the feather wand when my foster waves it around.

I would love to be in a home as an only cat who soaks up all your love and adoration.  I’ll follow you everywhere and rub against your legs.  I’m very bright and expressive – I have the ‘I want more attention’ pout down pat!  I’ll also bring you my rattle mouse when I want to play.  But I know it’s not all about me, so if you’re feeling down, I’ll give you a belly massage and then be your “cat blanket” and lay on top of your chest until you fall asleep.  I like to sleep with my person and snuggle between your arm and your side, or even spoon under the covers with you!  I also like to give random massages on your arms and legs. 

I’ll win your heart, too, when I sit on your lap and give you a belly rub (or you can give me one) and then lie down next to you – my tongue will be out in happiness the whole time. My foster mom thinks I look adorable when that happens.

Oh, I forgot to mention: look for my snowy white "tuxedo" and matching "mittens" on my paws!
